Andoni Beristain is a Basque visual artist and creative director working through photography, design, and curation, driven by a deep obsession with colour and visual culture.
Born in a small village in Northern Spain in 1989, he has spent his life fascinated with shapes, colours, and observing the world and fitting, or not, in it. He is currently based in San Sebastián while working internationally; his roots are essential to understanding his aesthetics.
For the last fifteen years, he has worked for brands like Kenzo, Veuve Clicquot, Louis Vuitton, Netflix and Adobe, among many others, and has been featured in international magazines and exhibitions. In 2012, he also founded La Monda Magazine, an independent publication exploring creativity and art through a lens of colour, humour and strong visual identity, a project that ran until 2019 and helped shape his distinctively bold approach to image-making. He has also found a way to explain his stories, life-changing events, political stands and worries through his photography, combining big-scale outdoors still life and carefully curated studio work.
His personal work goes deeper. He started his artistic journey with Pieza Redonda, about weight, obesity and the social pressure around size. He continued with Pieza Rota, exploring disease, cancer and stigma, and Pieza Madre, a homage to unconditional love, loss and death, published as a monograph by Setanta Books in 2025. Topics might be dark, but his outlook on life is colourful, bold and optimistic.
Stories can be told in many ways. For Andoni Beristain, it's all about finding a connection with whoever is looking at his creations, making people wonder, look beyond and, above all, appreciate the good things we take for granted.

Andoni Beristain es un artista visual y director creativo vasco que trabaja mediante la fotografía, el diseño y la curaduría, impulsado por una profunda obsesión por el color y la cultura visual.
Desde pequeño, ha sentido fascinación por las formas, los colores, la observación del mundo y el encajar, o no, en él. Actualmente vive en San Sebastián mientras trabaja a nivel internacional; sus raíces son esenciales para entender su estética.
Durante los últimos quince años ha trabajado para marcas como Kenzo, Veuve Clicquot, Louis Vuitton, Netflix y Adobe, entre muchas otras, y ha aparecido en revistas y exposiciones internacionales. En 2012 fundó también La Monda Magazine, una publicación cultural independiente que exploraba la creatividad y el arte a través del color, el humor y una fuerte identidad visual, un proyecto que duró hasta 2019 y que ayudó a definir su distintivo enfoque a la construcción de imágenes. También ha encontrado la manera de contar sus historias, sus experiencias vitales, sus posiciones y sus inquietudes a través de la fotografía, combinando grandes still lifes en exteriores con trabajo de estudio cuidadosamente elaborado.
Su trabajo personal va más allá. Inició su trayectoria artística con Pieza Redonda, una reflexión sobre el peso, la obesidad y la presión social alrededor del cuerpo. Continuó con Pieza Rota, con la enfermedad, el cáncer y el estigma como temas centrales, y Pieza Madre, un homenaje al amor incondicional, la pérdida y la muerte, publicado como monografía por Setanta Books en 2025. Los temas pueden ser oscuros, pero su visión de la vida es colorida, atrevida y optimista.
Las historias se pueden contar de muchas maneras. Para Andoni Beristain, todo consiste en encontrar una conexión con quien mira sus creaciones, haciendo que la gente se pregunte, mire más allá y, sobre todo, aprecie las cosas buenas que damos por sentadas.
